Boys Dance Company (2022 – 2026)

I joined Boys Dance Company (BDC) in Year 10 and have since performed in a range of showcases and tours as well as leading workshops in my school and other communities. BDC uses a collaborative choreographic process allowing performers to contribute creatively whilst exploring a range of meaningful themes relating to boys’ experiences in the current world. These include challenging the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and depression as well as more energetic and playful work such as our version of “Stomp” which focussed on rhythm and group enjoyment. BDC is a multi-year group and includes mentoring younger students, developing strong coordination, discipline and group synchronicity.

Choreography. Creative exploration of space. Performance. Use of shape and movement. Storytelling.
